Expression of Interest: Consumer Representative for the Pharmacy Registration Board of WA
The Pharmacy Registration Board of WA (the Board) is seeking to appoint a consumer representative to join its Board. This important role involves advocating for consumer interests and contributing to the effective regulation of pharmacy businesses in Western Australia under the Pharmacy Act 2010 (WA).
About the Role
The Board is responsible for:
- Advising the Minister for Health on matters related to pharmacy regulation.
- Managing the registration of pharmacy businesses.
- Ensuring compliance with the Pharmacy Act 2010 (WA).
- Supporting the integrity and effectiveness of pharmacy business regulation.
The Board comprises three registered pharmacists and one consumer representative, meeting monthly in Perth. Equal gender representation is a priority, with the current membership including one male and three female members. Sitting fees and allowances are provided to eligible members.
